So was browsing the Gate Website and it looks like they came out with their own Drop in "AEG Control System" - basically something like the BTC Spectres and the ASCU type deal.

Hair Trigger using optical sensors? but that looks like gona have a lot of problems.... but the demo videos kinda cool :P

I applied to be a beta tester a few weeks ago, got an email today saying they will make final decisions next week.

From what I can see in the pictures, the cutoff detection seems to detect sector gear teeth positioning as opposed to a cutoff cam. It looks like it is positioned to cut off as soon as it detects the sector teeth coming back around to engage. Implication here is that when short stroking, the side you choose to short stroke will only affect tappet plate timing and not cutoff timing.

It is interesting to have different levels of trigger sensitivity, but it should be noted that the trigger will still have to be manually shimmed to reduce overall movement and improve feel.

Indeed. They finally sent out an email. Seems they're splitting it into 2 groups (makes sense). Z, did you get into the first round?

They're making another version for V3s. The beta and initial release version is for V2 only.
