green beret set up

hey guys im looking at making a green beret set up based in 2000 to present time i have a basic idea for a vest and helmet, just need to know more about the clothing since they are not your regular soldiers and dont all wear the same clothing. any ideas would be help full. FYI growing a beard isnt hard for me since i always grow mine out during the winter

Desert or forest ? That's the first question

After that you have to choose the type of clothes

RAID bdu ( dcu or woodland )

Acu cut ( different camo available )

And finaly the different "crye style" bdu with integrated pads etc

Well im going to go with both desert and woodland

I love the old woodland and old desert tricolor for that less common look. If you want to get a more mainstream 2010 Green beret look you will need multicam for afganistan and probably acu for irak

For the time frame your going for you'll want to get a RBAV or CIRAS PC, and you will see a mix of MICH helmets.

He also told till present day... So you might want to add 6094 style pc, crye JPC, airframe or ops-core helmets, on the weapon side : mainly m4, before 2004 you will see sopmod block1 accessories and block 2 after that. You Will see both cqbr and carbine lenght

Yes but given he wants to wear pre UCP/ACU bdu's, he is going early 2000's, the gear you mention is more recent which means he would have to wear Multicam or UCP to be accurate. If he's not doing a full blown authentic time period loadout all the power to him. When Army SF was wearing BDU's in the early part of 2000's they were wearing RBAV and CIRAS PC's and MICH/ACH that's why I mentioned it.

Even present day, many Army SF use vests like the CIRAS, Eagle MBAV, or RBAV. Never seen SF in an airframe, ops-core fast helmets are becoming the norm, but a number still use MICH/ACH, either the standard 2000 cut or the 2001 cut. Some individual GB's may use crye or lbt style plate carriers, but we could go on for days talking about 'well I saw one guy wearing...'. The norm is the issue vests like RBAV, MBAV, or CIRAS.

Very important note is that Army SF (Green Beret's) are NOT a "door kicker" unit like SEALs, Rangers, etc. Their kit often reflects their different role.

Don't forget the most important piece of Army SF kit, the beard ;)

ok so alot of good suggestions, I want to go for full blown authentic. I just bought a mich 2001 with the cut and the type of vest I have already is a condor modular operator plate carrier which looks close enough to the Eagle MBAV and RBAV. I want to go as authentic as i can get

seeing as how you got something to replicate the Eagle mbav, why not go for some Eagle pouches?
