"I'm trigger happy as fuck"

No thanks, we don't want to play with you.

Try smoking crack, if you can overcome the addiction you can beat the "trigger happy" part of you!

Man, even as a joke, that's a fucked up thing to suggest.

To OP: just learn to not use full auto or burst during your games. Stick with semi fire and only pull the trigger when you have a clear shot. Using low cap mags also can help. You'll need to be more cautious of using all your bbs up before a mag change. This way you can't spray and pray, unless you want to be out of bbs during a fire fight.

Good advice. Especially about firing semi and using the Low Cap magazines. You really learn how to conserve ammo when you dont have hundreds of rounds in a single mag.

You have to understand that this game has alot to do with respect your fellow players. We play this because we love the game and we consider all our fellow players as friends.

When you start unloading bbs at them, you'll only gain a reputation as a hoser and no one will want you to play. Fights have even been started because of hosers. You are one guy and I'm sure you don't want a whole team to hose you just to teach you a lesson about fire control.

Most game have limited bbs that you can have on you. About 300 bbs. It really doesn't last long if you start spraying. Stick with semi only and learn how to move to a better position and do your shot. It doesn't matter if you get killed but it will be more satisfying to do a earned killed.

Show us that you are a good player and you'll enjoy the game better when you don't have to play by yourself.

First of all, I'm not sure what your question is: "I'm a spray and pray type of guy," "need assistance." Do you mean you need help with spray and pray or you want to evolve into a non-spray-and-pray player who's actually useful?

Are you playing now? Where?

count your shots, you will naturally shoot slower and as a bonus-know when to change mags just before running out of bbs

The way I see it, you seem to already know that the "spray and pray attitude" can be a problem in Airsoft (not talking about the social aspect of it, but what was mentioned above might just be as true).

Knowing that you have that attitude at the moment, and knowing/wanting to do better, I don't think what you need is a mentor, nor "training" per se. Just pay attention to what you do, I think at that point you're the only one that can help yourself

The comments above are all good, 'cept for the trolls of course :P Use real/low-cap mags, semi-only, identify your target before shooting, count your shots

That's the gist of it

Good luck

Get a gas gun. Then you'll have no choice. Even a pistol only for a few months.

FULLMETAL September 23rd, 2013 11:29

but first of all.... get AV. Thats the best way to start.

As suppression fire only! Meaning that you are not even aiming at people but near them to keep their heads down or to prevent them from advancing.

Most people do enjoy the odd outdoor shoot fest. These are usually single elimination games with simple objectives and it's more about socializing with old buddies then the trigger time.

Those are typically the times when I break out the Daytona 249 ;)
