KJW Colt M1911a1

I saw another thread about this but it did not have a concrete answer.
I wanted to know if this barrel will fit in a KJW M1911a1.

I don't like that fact that the original barrel sticks out when a real M1911a1 does not.

Let me know.

no, your KJW has a one piece outer barrel/chamber, whereas that is just the barrel, you need to find a one piece barrel compatible with TM 1911

I hope this barrel does not protrude out the gun

You may still end up with the barrel sticking out the end. I dont think ive seen one that doesn't... You may want to look into a 'bull barrel'.. i dont know if they stick out the same as a regular barrel

no the KJW has an elongated barrel that has (or had) an orange tip painted on for the states if I recall, I assume this is what he's talking about, which would probably protrude atleast 1/4", whereas a 1911 barrel should only protrude by about 1 millimeter at most

Ahh, I see, sticks out while the slide is forward... Yeah, that sucks, I admit.

This is what I mean. Even if I paint the orange part, it will still look odd.

All you need to do is mark where the barrel meets the bushing and then use a pipe cutter to do a rough cut a few millimetres away from your desired cut then file the remainder flush and smooth with sand paper and emery paper. I use this method on all my 1911's, or if your unsure of your modding abilities you could order an after market barrel.

Will you be able to do it?

I think his model has a black barrel, so after cutting and polishing it would also need a bit of black paint.

It's still what I'd do.

Or course, my KJW has a silver barrel so no paint was required.

I also cut the barrel right at the edge of the orange paint. The amount that sticks out seems to be in keeping with photos of real M1911 pistols.

I used the pipe cutter method on mine. KJW on top, real steel bottom:
