DMR Upper Receiver (noob)

I'm fairly new to the sport and have a decent kit already. It's a G&G TR4 CQB. EOtech 551 replica, light… all the CQB goodies… I was wondering how much a separate upper for field play would cost? How would it work with the pneumatic blow back / functioning forward assist?

Thanks!

Prolly the easyest thing to do if you are just looking for a longer barrel for outdoor just grab a longer barrel and hide it with a suppresor.
Otherwise just grab a gun for outdoor.

I hope you realize that having a second upper won't affect outdoor play that much (unless it's an ICS). Sure with a TBB, bucking/hop up unit, and longer barrel it will affect FPS but not by much (maybe 15 FPS at most).

Also AFAIK the forward assist doesn't really do anything on the G&G's.... Only on ICS will it actuate the ARL to release spring tension.

But I'd say probably like $100-200+ depending on what you want on your upper.

If you want all the bells and whistles like an 18" MB Steel OB that's already like $80, add in a Rail System, Flash Hider, and Optics and you could easily go $200-250. I don't think G&G sells separate uppers but you could probably buy a JG or something and modify it to fit.

If you want it on the cheap though; JG upper say $20-30, 18" Aluminum OB $20, Rail system $50, Flash Hider $15, Chamber $25, Bucking $5, Lonex TBB $40.

Get a ZIR kit if you're serious about being a DMR and having good accuracy.

Thanks for all the info, I'll have to look into it. The forward assist does function on my TR4 to release spring tension though.

Latency, the G&G Toptech guns do have a functioning forward assist.

Didn't realize that.... I thought it was only ICS that had that feature in their guns.

I just searched on google and it looks like the Forward Assist on the G&G does allow it to release the spring tension and here I am shooting in semi at the end of the day like a noob.
