Orange tips removal
 

Hey guys,
I am new here and just wonder if there are any good and effective ways to remove those orange tips?
It seems all are firmly glued to the inside barrel, so would a saw work for the removal?

heat gun is generally the best way. If it's plastic, warm that sucker up till it's nice and gooey and then use some pliers to pull it off.


If it's metal... good luck. Heat gun until it's warm and then try and turn it off with the vice grips... make sure you know if it's lefty tighty righty loosey or righty tighty lefty loosey. Sucks when you turn it the wrong way.

I'm sorry I need some clarification here, glued to the inner barrel?

what brand is this exactly?

Also don't forget to unscrew the set screw if there is one (and there is one usually)

first check the flash hider for any screws/pins
try to unscrew it by had (sometimes there is no glue)
Heat the flash hider
boiling water
heat gun

forgot to mention, work your way up from the least most destructive method... it could be easy... it could be hard. Just don't go possibly wrecking shit right away.

Mine was either not glued or glued lighltly. I had the heat gun ready to go, removed the set screw and decided to give it a tug with the wrench first. It just popped and spun off, I then soaked it in (mostly) acetone (nail polish remover) for two days and the orange paint (and white primer?) softened and I was able to peel it off.

this only applies to the painted flash hiders
i've seen a lot of guns that have the cheap plastic flash hiders

I was lucky. My ics mx5 flash hider came off without a problem. Using a hair dryer also works.

If you are worried about breaking shit you could paint it and when you are useing a heat gun don't point it down the barrel I think it might fuck up your hop up....I could be wrong about that though. It was just something I have heard happening before.

Hacksaw. BUT only if its a SVD lol.
