Modernizing an M1 Helmet
 

So i've got this old M1 helmet kicking around. I think its form the Vietnam Era

I was thinking of modernizing it with MICH Pads and maybe a new harness system.

I don't know much about Helmets, what are my options here. I don't mind modifying the steel bucket with holes or what ever it needs.

The original straps isn't doing justice, there's just too much play since the steel bucket is heavy.
