G&P mearbox users give me some feedback! or suggest another brand :)

For those of you running G&P mearboxes how do they hold up? Is it actually reinforced? I am running a M130 spring and a 11.1V 15C lipo battery with standard ratio gears.

My VFC Clone gearbox blew the front off yesterday so I'm thinking since I have a G&P receiver might as well run a G&P mechbox. I bought the VFC clone for $50 shipped but I guess you get what you pay for :/

Or is there something better? Please dont recommend systema cuz i dont want to shell out $200+ for a mechbox. Thanks!

Systema shells are only about $80.
Other decent shells like G&P or KA are $40 or $50.

Oh I was talking about a complete mechbox. My other gun runs G&P mechbox but that one is only a M100 spring. I just want to know if anyones G&P mechbox ran into any problems pushing a m130

Oh. You're not going to replace the entire mechbox with all the internals are you? People always overdo it.

ThunderCactus June 8th, 2011 22:57

The shells are tough as nails.
I'm still running the stock shell in my G&P 249 after 2 years of 350fps-900rpm and 1 year of 380fps-1500rpm

I think I will just buy a G&P drop in mechbox if I can find one with a good price

Sounds good :D

To prevent what happened there, don't use an Aluminum piston head. They cause more problem than they are worth. G&P and new King Arms complete gearboxes are a good option.

So know any retailers that has these in stock? Checked a few but they are all out of stock on G&P

Usually much more expensive, and you don't need to replace any other parts.

But it's your money.

I recently bought 2 complete g&p drop in mech boxes. Worked out to about $110 each with shipping and such.

One chrono'd at 405.2 consistent for 10 shots
The other one at 388.5 consistent for 10 shots

I'll definitely buy another one if I ever need too

Hi, are you guys familiar with sorbo pads? here in the Philippines, more and more players opt to install sorbo pads on their cylinder head so that impact coming from the piston head won't hurt your gearbox. It serves as shock absorber due to high impact when using stronger springs and high rate-of-fire set-ups (starting with M130 and up).

as for the topic, its a good choice to get a GnP gearbox.

Just get the ARS cylinder heads, they're better quality than anyone else's, have a built in extra thick sorbo, and they seal better with most air nozzles

Which gearboxes did you buy? Thinking about getting the GnP 8mm that says it has a 150% spring in it. Just wondering how high you think the fps would be on that cause it says its for a m120 motor.

http://www.gp-web.com/en/productspop.php?pid=2086 - this one here just minus the furniture which I didn't need.

I run mine of a 11.1v lipo currently.
