MAC-11 - was the real steel ever made with a polymer frame?

Google hasn't been able to help me.

I've concluded that a lot of them were made in steel, but I'm trying to figure out if any were actually made in polymer.

Some airsoft reviewers have been saying that the "real steel" M11 was made with a polymer grip. (For example, at http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/lo...p/t157705.html)

So what's the deal? Was the real MAC-11 ever made with a polymer frame?

I'm trying to build my shopping list and I'd like to get it as accurate as possible.

There's all you really need to know about said SMG.

Yeah, I had read that.

Quote:

The receiver is made from formed sheet steel and consist of two parts - upper and lower.
Kind of goes to confirms my suspicions.

However, M11 has been produced and copied by various manufacturers in various models for 40 years though...

The rear part of the grip is made of plastic/polymer, but that's it.

I see. Maybe that's where the confusion is coming from.

edit: Combined with wishful thinking of course.:)

And, No. There has not been a variant 10/10D/11CB (to date) built with a polymer/Plastic body.
