AK-47 body question.

Hey,

i was thinking of buying a new body for my TM ak47. its the one posted here: http://www.007airsoft.com/instock.htm under "metal parts". i just wanted to make sure it was compatible with the TM ak.

thanks.

Desmodus July 24th, 2008 01:04

Uh, theres no pictures on that site, plus 007 has pretty much closed down.
Do you happen to know what brand the metal body is?

slyash50 July 24th, 2008 01:08

all it says is " AK 47 metal body with authentic markings"

Drache July 24th, 2008 01:09

like its already been said, 007airsoft has closed....

slyash50 July 24th, 2008 01:15

no man, check it out

"updated july 23rd 2008"

and they have a list of things for sale.

MickeyWang July 24th, 2008 01:17

I would suggest getting a metal body from Huang.

Thats where I got mine. The price is great and it fits a TM no problem.

+1 Huang is a terrific seller although I think his parts thread may be 18+ only now tho. The element body is great, TM/TM clone compatible, I've owned 4

is anybody selling one?

ancorp July 24th, 2008 15:29

Get verified and find out.

Crunchmeister July 24th, 2008 15:36

007 was updated today, so I would say he's still in business. Besides, when he announced he was closing, I believe he had said that he was closing once he got rid of his stock. If he still has all this stock, then he's probably still in operation, just not selling guns other than the "unwanted", stupidly overpriced pistols he has left and not ordering any new parts.

slyash50 July 24th, 2008 17:25

ha ya, there arent any guns left exept for acouple EBBs and that systema M4 that costs like 1800 bucks. but there are a few cheap upgrade parts and BB's.

slyash50 July 24th, 2008 18:11

And i also have one more question...
Will a ICS ak side mounted top rail fit onto a TM ak?

KND July 24th, 2008 21:02

Hi ! I just have a question regard to the wood kit for AK, I would rather ask here than put out another thread. In my country, the complete of set AK wood kit is very cheap, it's about 20 $ for complet set but it's for the real steel, so anybody experience modify it to fit the AK aeg ? I would consider to bring some of them during my vocation this August. Thanks.

Cheers !
KND

ancorp July 24th, 2008 21:12

KND,

It's doable, a lot of dremel work. Milled sets are easier to install on TM compatible AK-47s, stamped sets are harder.

Which nations stock sets will you bring, and for what model AK?

Dao July 24th, 2008 21:47

I wonder if any of you guys know how the element AK metal body compares with the G&P one regarding sturdiness and the quality of the metal.

Also are these AK wood kits sold on ebaybanned and by Huang any good?

Lorden July 27th, 2008 13:34

From everything I've heard Element is the lowest quality one, but it's usually the one you're stuck with. I don't even know which I have, I just know that it was a very tight fit and I had to file down in a few places.

Amos July 29th, 2008 00:40

Element bodies are 25 dollars anywhere else in the world.

That should say something for the quality.

ColtFarmer July 29th, 2008 00:43

Element body is to Ford Pinto as GP body is to Nissan Skyline

KND July 29th, 2008 00:50

Hi ! Thanks for answer ancorp, I would like to bring it from my country (Cambodia), I'm not sure which model yet but I think AK-47 is the usual model that has thousand burn out every years (no war, no gun so should be burn and destroy) so I could manage to get any real steel part before they burn like the steel stock, wood grip, stock and handguard.

pusangani July 29th, 2008 00:50

lol Cyma metal bodies are actually better than element, AND they come with the stock tangs built in!

so youre saying G&P metal ak bodies are good ones? or just good compared to the elements?
my metal body on my ak is a G&P. its pretty solid and sturdy and the parts that hold the stock on are all one piece along with the reciever. mags dont wobble either

Amos, I recently bought the Kraken Ak47 w/ Full Metal/Wood that AXe Hound used to own, which i think is the same one you worked on it.
I asked about the bodies because the metal body in that Kraken is pretty good, but I am not sure it is the Element one (I guess so), but if it is then I'd say it is a great deal for such price quality wise, but again not sure it is the Element metal body on the gun (waiting for Axe to confirm :) ).

ColtFarmer July 29th, 2008 01:01

pics and im sure we can tell ya what it has on it.

Dao July 29th, 2008 01:08

here is the pic from the thread i bought it: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/gnx/ak-001.jpg

And here are pics from Axe himself:

Sorry i don't have any close up pics myself :(

Dusti69 July 29th, 2008 01:09

oh hey heres a question i was wondering about. ak74 metal bodies.... other than the grips are they compatible with ak47 body parts?

pawscal July 29th, 2008 01:10

yep element

pusangani July 29th, 2008 01:14

ak47 front end can go on an element 74 body, the 74 style top cover may have some fit issues tho may need to be filed down

ColtFarmer July 29th, 2008 01:17

seconded, element.

Dao July 31st, 2008 19:04

Thanks pawscal and ColtFarmer for confirming the body on that kraken is indeed the element one.

Now I just received an AK47 metal body I bought but i think it is missing some of the of furniture and it seems to have more stuff in the package then i was expecting

I bought the body expecting to receive the Element AK47 metal body, but what i received it's clearly NOT the Element one.
The body comes with the stock tangs built in, a metal front end (broken i think), some handguard retainers, and just TWO screws
My guess is that it is the CYMA metal body since it has the writings "CM.029" on it.

But the whole package came with just two screws and the front end appears to be broken.
So i was wondering, besides the 2 screws that hold the front end to the body, what else is missing here and if there is a way to fix the broken front end.

Amos July 31st, 2008 19:48

I don't think that's the one I worked on.

The one I worked on had all black furniture... and a G&P front set...
