Airsoft G.I. Ripoff Artists

A group of us got together to buy rifle bags from this company.

Basically, we got fucked on the shipping. They charged us 203USD to ship three boxes, and we got two. When we went to UPS, they said "based on the packaging, this should have cost $68USD".

The way bill said we were getting three boxes, it turns out they charged us shipping, then canceled the third box, but never refunded the cost of shipping it.

We called up the owner, he said "too fucking bad".

Never again from Airsoft G.I. They may not shaft every customer, but watch out, cause when they do, they really fuck you.

The Saint December 19th, 2006 12:15

Blackthorne, you'll probably want to post this on Arnies or one of them American sites, too.

CDN_Stalker December 19th, 2006 12:23

Someone should give them a big fucking rock for Xmas............... right through their front window! Tie a note on it that says:

"Kinetic energy sucks, too fucking bad!"

ILLusion December 19th, 2006 12:38

Wow, talk about shady business practices. Thanks for the head's up!

I guess buying local would have been better in this case. Saves you on the shipping hassles.

thephenom December 19th, 2006 13:50

That's why I stick to Ehobbyasia. :D

At least they have excellent customer service.

EN SABAH NUR December 19th, 2006 15:51

WOW! They said the "F" word? Too bad for them word spreads fast in a small community like airsoft. Boycott! Girlcott!

Airsoft G.I. has alot of great stuff like low prices, discounts, easy web interface, good customer support, until you get to the asshole. I have a grudge that it has to do with one of the lazy employees.

I'd suggest purchasing by phone (whilst looking at the web page) and ask for the person's name (if he doesn't already give it), if he fucks your order then call the next day and rat him out. I know if you call on Fridays and ask for ------ (I forgot his name, I'll make another post when I remember) then he'd be very willing to help you out. My friend did this and got his CA M4 with absolutely no problem.

Rockincj December 19th, 2006 18:49

What the fuck kind of response is that? Man I would have lost it with the moron.

Sorry to hear you got screwed so badly on that and thanks for the heads up, definatly not going to buy from them.

MacRae December 21st, 2006 19:30

they have a forum on their site

mcguyver December 21st, 2006 20:01

It's a shame. They are one of The only Systema PTW retailers in the U.S that will actually ship parts and such to Canada. Perhaps it's best to avoid them?

swatt13 December 21st, 2006 20:04

thats pretty lame. unrelated but worth noteing, i know one time we had a team member buy a piston off 007 even though we were suppose to get team discounts from him, he sold it to him full price, then charged him $30 to ship it regular purolator from clagary to brooks (2 hours away) which should have only cost $7 to ship.

Ouch.

I just have to say this,

If a price is too high, or the shipping is unreasonable, don't pay it. You can buy it elsewhere.

What you are complaining about in this thread was entirely your own fault, because you KNEW the prices they were charging and you PAID them. You absolutely could have said no, but you CHOSE to go ahead and purchase.

Price check before you buy. Failing that, use common sense.

Amazing KG3 December 23rd, 2006 01:21

yeah ive been there, just got fucked on ebay, now im out 600 dollars, and the guy refuses to refund all my money because he says i wasted his time despite the fact he ripped me off. I can live without the money, but his sheer arrogance is enough to ruin my last month. I havent felt such a literal urge to rip a kitten from its warm hide in my whole life.

I will tell everyone about the travesty of Airsfot G.I. theyll be out of business in no time.

m4a1sniper December 23rd, 2006 11:57

Yeah i have not even got my stuff from them and i ordered it three weeks ago. It was a ACOG sight, m16 low cap mags and a vertical grip

z0ng December 23rd, 2006 12:17

I'm glad I only ever ordered a rail for my G3 from them and nothing more. I didn't have any problems with my order and it arrived within a week of the initial order. Given the experiences posted by others I'll credit it to luck.

Support our local vendors instead to help foster their growth. That way the requirement for purchasing items from over the border will be much less as our local stores will (with time and continued support) have a lot of the various items we need. This (as well as smart shopping) will help reduce incidents in which you get e-screwed.

If you paid via paypal, which I personally always do or I don't buy off ebay, talk to paypal. Specially if you haven't actually received what you paid for. They generally wouldn't even think about it for a second and will just reverse the transaction. At least that was my experience.

As for Airsoft G.I. , sorry to hear that. I ordered a drop leg holster for my mp5k and althought it took a while, I did get it and didn't have trouble with shipping, but i'll watch out for them now.

Amazing KG3 December 24th, 2006 00:18

well its looking grim... Visa will also help me out.

Barf December 24th, 2006 01:30

I had a similar experience with Lightfighter. They ripped me off for $250. They were more than glad to take my money. Once they had it, they don't answer emails or phone calls. The only answer I got was "we shipped your order". They shipped my order to fucking Alabama!!

I live in Ontario! What shit-for brains can't tell the difference between Ontario, Canada and Alabama, USA?

A WARNING - DON'T BUY FROM LIGHTFIGHTER!

Amazing KG3 December 24th, 2006 09:05

always use paypal for everything, even if it is a business.

trevor December 24th, 2006 11:31

I had no problem with my order from them - they were the only ones carrying the deepfire piston I needed but when UPS showed up at my door and wanted an extra $50 for brokerage fees (on top of the shipping) I felt screwed. They sent the bill and I phoned and said I would not pay it since they never asked if I wanted it brokered-they dropped the charges so it worked out in the end. I hate UPS!

Did you pay for it by credit card? I specifically do first time orders with retailers by credit card in order to get that layer of protection. I've had a couple of instances where they tried the bait and switch on shipping and I called VISA and it got sorted out quick-fast and in a hurry.

Online retailers are very succeptable to complaints to credit card companies - they are being watched like hawks and as a result, cc companies will yank their accounts at the drop of a hat. If you need good customer service sometimes the only way to get it is to hold their feet to the fire with their cc agreement. It works wonders. I've had apologetic calls back the same day and reversed charges.

There are only a handful of online retailers I trust, some of them being eBay based who do big volume and need a perfect reputation, and ones I've traditionally done business with with good success.

I like doing business with locals like MadMax, ASCA, Army Issue, One Shot Tac, etc because they genuinely give a shit. Most everyone else, customer service ends after they get your credit card.

DuffMan December 24th, 2006 16:53

I'm adding Dave's to the list of retailers that 'give a shit'. They sent me a belt that was too big, and, even though I had agreed on that size over the phone, exchanged it straight away. Included in the package was a $20 bill to cover the cost of my shipping it back to them. Great guys.

Now that is what I call excellent customer service... :D

JAFA December 24th, 2006 23:45

I think we need an International Airsoft Watchdog, a site where the good and the bad sellers can be shown as they are. With the money some of these companies make I think they should be expected to provide a lot more in the way of customer service.

Barf December 24th, 2006 23:58

I'd be happy if they just provided the product.

I think thats a slippery slope because one bad experience doesn't necessarily make a bad retailer. I think feedback systems like eBay and the one here and word of mouth, just as we are doing now, are all the best ways to flag the bad apples. Bad retailers tend to be ones who consistently fcuk people, whereas good retailers will go out of their way to satisfy a customer. But there are also those customers out there that no matter what you just can't satisfy...

I know in all my dealings I stand 100% behind what I sell and if I fcuk up on shipping or product, its my responsiblity to make that customer happy. Sometimes it means I drive product to someone's door to exchange it, or sometimes it means sending out extra items no charge when someone loses something or it doesn't quite work the way they thought. I try to be clear in all my communications but sometimes there are simple misunderstandings. Good retailers will overcome those things and have a happy outcome. Bad ones ignore those customers and hope they go away. Thats never a good strategy.

firemachine69 December 25th, 2006 19:13

Agreed Scarecrow. Even if, as it's happened that my "helper" forgot the package on the counter for two days, I'll flip the switch and ship out Priority Post, or even Overnight Early AM (I always love the responses I get from using that service - nothing like waking up customers at 8 am :D), regardless if it means I'm out on money for the entire order (read: $32 shipping on a 17 dollar mic).
