I like the holster the seccond guy from the right has with the knife sheath on it that looks good.

A piece of gear that Yuxi can't identify? What?

Looks close to the Eagle MOLLE plate carrier. Fastex buckles tightened up and right up against the chest platform.

Haha, nah man, theres plenty of shit I don't know, but ASCers have been helpful a plenty in helping identify them.

Kwokwai August 2nd, 2006 14:46

Looks like my MOLLE Paraclete plate carrier except without the MOLLE.

Blackthorne August 2nd, 2006 14:52

Looks like a Warlord to me.

Adrian August 2nd, 2006 23:11

The flap on the bottom of that Eagler carrier is just the flap that holds the plate in.

As for the mystery rig, speaking out of my ass I'd wager it's an old AWS model.

The body armor might be a Spear?
You can see those side buckle attachments and the shape looks like it to me

It would appear the shoulder straps are different, and the turnbuckle style piece connected to the strap of the shoulder.

As well, the mystery rig seems to not have the vertical pals webbing that the balcs has.

But at this point, spear is still closer than the others.

Yuxi, I would agree it's a BALCS vest also. The shoulder straps is what throws it off.

Call me crazy but it REALLY looks like hes wearing a Paraclete Hard Plate Carrier (w/o cumberbun) overtop of another, Im assuming soft armor carrier... The straps are a perfect match for the Paraclete, but there is side protection coming from underneath it. You can also vagly make out the paracletes oval shape around the neck, but see another rig coming up much tighter. The guy to his left is also clearly wearing a BHI plate carrier overtop of another vest aswell.

As for not being able to see any PALS... its clearly been painted, I'm guessing that the paint has either hidden the webbing or they were removed.

I think it is unlikely the paint hid the pals webbing, the paint appears to be wearing off somewhat, indicating use. When OD webbing is painted tan, and is used it becomes more obvious than what is in the above pictures.

As for removal of webbing, I thought about that, but it really does not make sense fpr a operator to remove the pals webbing on a rig. But who knows, anything could happen in this world :D

hammer August 4th, 2006 23:13

I'm still calling BALCS :) Maybe I am just convincing myself, but I actually do see the three columns of PALs going down the front. You can see the left one most clearly at the bottom underneath the glove. The middle one can be infered because of the way the comms wire runs underneath it at the top. The right column is a bit harder to see in the original pic.

Vince August 4th, 2006 23:35

There's also the kinda lip at the bottom where he has two carabiner, as for the shoulder straps, operators often customize their stuff.

spaceghost0 August 5th, 2006 18:21

My guess is along the lines of the SOTECH plate carrier, from the look of the shoulder straps. The cummerbund-ish thing throws me for a loop though.

Negative
the plate carrier only have side straps, while the armor here covers the entire side
