Canadian Camo
What type of Camo is best suited for Canadian Forests, the somewhat sparse ones with a few bushes here and there :p. I know very vague but I can't really describe it well :p
|
Cadpat is good generaly.
Just Google "Military Camouflage" and take a picture of the vegetation near your favorite field. Compare to find the closest match. |
I think Marpat is good from what I've seen. It's close to Cadpat but much more brown in it.

yeah..marpat or cadpat..i have cadpat load out..it does work..having some one pass by you at about 50 ft. and not notice you,re laying flat on the ground.
|
I wear CADPAT. It works very well in fields with lots of green vegetation (think springtime in wet areas). However, how much green vegetation do you play in? In the spring and fall, everything is brown. In the summer, forests are mostly brown (dirt, tree trunks). CADPAT is not brown :)
All things considered, I think multicam is superior. (Watch Donster at Wasaga Paintball. He always just disappears into the bushes in the blink of an eye). |
Yea i was thinking about multi-cam, was just trying to get some other opinions though. I'm really a noob when it comes to anything about airsoft :P.

youre in barrie, go out to hobby place ans ask george what his team wears, ive seen them disappear because of how well they blend.
and i could swear its a desert camo |
I have some flecktarn that I know will blend in a lot of places here but I'm getting CADPAT for the really green spring foliage and I'm getting some woodland digital for the high mountains where there is more brown than green.

This is what I was thinking. There's alot of browns in it, but the last time I hit the ye old forest farm it was pretty sparse with rare forest floor vegetation. More dirt ground, and fallen tree's (roots) for cover. |
|
You can wear Multicam but please don't try and to be a tacticool operator. Wear some CADPAT and show some pride baby!
|
ya George and his team and a lot of guys that play with them including myself wear flecktarn and/ or tropentarn... you can also go and ask Dave at Angies outdoor on dunlop they have a surplus section in their store with tones of different camo BDU's

The Italian Army camo looks like it'll work in a lot of the areas here. Anyone try it yet or do I have to be the first one to test out that theory? lol

I've seen the Italian stuff in action over here. Its not bad. A bit on the light side, but over all I like it. Only trick is find well made Combats in vegetato. Most makes fade easily.
I just got some Digi-AUSCAM BDU's shipped over from Down under. Have yet to get out into the field with them, but they look pretty sweet! Word to the wise though... don't order the "Combat" line... they come with those retarded built in Knee and elbow pads. Mine are at the tailor getting removed! http://www.platatac.com/tactical/pla...22403_1024442/ |
cimmshark, everything you posted is fake camo, not a single pattern is even close to what it's supposed to be....
For the love of god don't buy fake camo, not only does it REALLY stand out on the field, but a real, brand new uniform is only 80$, it resists fading, it's wear resistant, some are IR treated, and they're often ripstop. and ACU isn't a camo, it's a cut of uniform, ARPAT is a camo. MARPAT CADPAT MULTICAM US woodland |
if you play in a deciduous forest, then wear:
Multicam Arid Cadpat Arid Flecktarn if you play in a coniferous forest, than wear any of the following: Flecktarn Marpat Cadpat |

What is commonly referred to as ACU (Army Combat Uniform), is called UCP (Universal Camouflage Pattern). The new multicam uniforms will also be ACU for the soldiers on patrol in Afganistan. |

While my Combats are at the tailors, Here's a pic of my Digicam (AUSCAM) boonie in the mean time. Kinda reminds me of a digital flectarn.
