Krylon Ultra Flat camo line paints (Comes in Brown, OD, Black and Tan) are all great for this type of stuff. You can't go wrong with Krylon!

I found it scratches easy

Scratching isn't a problem if you use a clear coat on top. I didn't use clear coat on my Masada because I wanted a worn look, but that is optional. I do find that Tamiya spray can paints and clear coat are fairly good too. Tamiya comes in a very large variety of colours, a large portion of them being specifically military colours (Lots of tans, browns and greens) in a flat finish.

Excuse the clearsoft POS , but it was cheap and I wanted to try something. Matt black Krylon followed by ground up pencil lead, then clear coat. Fake wood given some gouges and washes of dark brown.

Now it's a pretty POS ;)

Nothing fancy, just two toned my A&K Masada
I stripped the upper receiver, then used Duplicolor low gloss black engine enamel and baked at 300'F for two hours to cure as per the directions . It yielded a very nice durable finsh.

My lower has been painted for a while on my MK18 (my version of one) and the upper was perfectly black, so I gave her a little dusty paint job. Yes, yes the flashlight is not painted, but its the one piece that I do transfer from weapon to weapon so I wanted to keep it clean.
