Lol epic April Fool's prank :D I have to admit I was pretty worried though :P

I love this place.

BootYourFace April 1st, 2009 17:23

Just annoying.

Danneichh April 1st, 2009 17:46

You guys can tell me i have bad taste, but the idea Lisa came up with about the site being seized by the RCMP would've made me laugh so hard i'd piss myself. :P

Erennert April 1st, 2009 17:51

Props to Lisa, but I agree it was a bit frustrating.

That idea would have had my vote, but seeing the panic some people went into over a DNS redirection I think some folks would have been out burning their airsoft guns or throwing them in lakes.

Yeah, I could see then how a lot of people wouldn't be too impressed with ASC.

I can't say i came up with the idea to pretend asc was seized, i nixed the idea when it was presented to me. it wasn't even on the consideration list. I remember with one scare there was some guy saying he burried all the airsoft in his back yard...

Erennert April 1st, 2009 18:55

Haha, nice one Lisa, but i have to admit, must have been a shocker to those who are retailers. :D

MillerBRo April 1st, 2009 18:56

I always love a good joke and this one was funny enough :D ... but this one was also a bit buggy so maybe something not so difficult to manage next year.

You guys wouldn't believe the number of emails I got on my site after ASC started redirecting to Airsoft Retreat.

I should read a few more of them, and see if I can find any really stupid ones.

Mostly people concerned about private user information, how their email addresses are going to be used, and people pissed an American company owns a Canadian community...

YAY! SPAM!

grimreefer April 2nd, 2009 11:39

Not a funny april fools joke. It would have made more sense if it was actually on April 1st! But no, it was just confusing and pissed a lot of people off.

but it was, it started midnight GMT because Arnies airsoft is in that time zone and they were participating. eastern time zone is not the only time zone in the world.

Mephisto42 April 2nd, 2009 16:36

Nice One

It was certainly a classic hoax, but honestly at this time of year (April Fools) you can not believe anything suspicious or odd, or abnormal....like comon,
btw did anybody else see that flying giant purple dinosaur that did a fly by of Pearson yesterday? It was on the news....honest.
