First coat of Tan has been applied to my WE M4 and is hanging, drying in the sun. Looks fucking awesome! So glad I went ahead with my second paint job ;)

Thanks guys for all the tips - much appreciated!

edit: go away grey clouds!

Going to give it some brown snake skin spots here and there when its dries.

I don't know if I should paint my accessories though - GPS02 Military Model & A.R.M.S #40L-P (both are black).

Depends. I'm personally more a fan of "was painted in the FOB to fit operational environnement, between two patrols" :P

@Talibanmilan: I personally would. Both. (my own ARMS is painted, and my Grippod will be as soon as I receive it). But I'd mask the actual "circle" in the sight to keep it black so there's still some contrast... might be hard to see if it's tan.

I want to, but combined they are worth more than $300 at least...

And yah, screw the disassemble the gun, etc.

All I did was put an ear-plug in the barrel and folded some paper towel and put it in the magwell.

I left the bolt and charging handle inside the rifle while it was being painted.

Selector switch, etc all works fine.

Yeah, I'm just talking about the look but since they're the real deal, there's more than the look to consider here...

If you were using Tamiya paint i'd say it's quite easy to strip it and revert to original color, but for Krylon I dunno.

So Milan, how is it coming together?

If he's using only tamiya acrylic paint; you can remove the paint with windex; oven cleaner or brake fluid. All scale modeler used them when they are not satisfied with the result of their painting. I personally used theses methods 3-4 times.

Yannos, it turned out AMAZING! I am very happy with how the final product looks ;)

I don't want to post any pics until I get some parts I have on order - will be soon enough though...

How I did it?

I wish I took production pics but heres what I did. My friend actually has the exact same gun so I did 2 at a time but, I first covered up anything and everything I didnt want painted at all so I completely wrapped the end of the barrel, I covered up bb feed, i covered up the bolt, and i covered part of the upper receiver where there were holes to the gearbox. I sprayed the grip, stock, and hand-guard with Krylon camo grey. Then a second coat of the same.

Once that dried, I wrapped them with the green painters tape stuff and sprayed the rest of the gun with the krylon camo black. 2 coats again.

I then took some silver arcrylic paint from citadel paints (warhammer =P) and drybrushed all metal.

I then took off all the tape and voila. Awesomeness.

The suppressor is my S400 I made today. Other thread in airsoft discussion.
