The frame from mine is from another G17 custom, so yes it is possible.

thinking about doing the chrome bits on the black one in gold and getting a dark wood grip for it

the chrome with black bits... prolly just a hogue grip...

Shirley May 12th, 2010 01:47

Wood grips on both would look hot!

Yup. In the pic detailing the butt end of the grip, you can see a little black hex screw. Removing that allows the plastic magwell to be completely removed - hence allowing for the usage of standard TM G17 mags if you wish (or just for removal of the magwell).

Thanks guys. :) Now I know what to get next

O true...haha sorry, wrong movie... I thought he could wear a Hitman tux with those.... :P

Luving the Glock..Hey Juicy..is the magwell a polymer one or an aluminum one? It looks great with the magwell. I'm thinking of getting an aluminum one for a little more weight on the backend of the pistol. I'm really digging the tan lower as well..

Megadave May 12th, 2010 09:24

It wouldn't matter what I wore when this is your vantage point. :)

As to my Glock - I just swapped the slide for a non-ported plastic TM one. Figured that asides from looking a bit cooler (subjectively), the weight difference was entirely negligible. Needs a new trigger bar still, so sorry to the local guys - you won't see it for a week or two yet.

How dare you take that opportunity away from me...

Very sexy! Now when can I shoot it :p

Nice pair of Cutlass-M9-things. I have no idea what they're actually called, sorry, lol. I'm apparently not asian enough?

I know eh? It's pretty sweet looking - the more I look at it, the more I love it. Thinking of taking off the thumb rests for holstering-purposes... unless they actually fit in a Serpa clone.

As to the magwell, it is a ABS one made by TM. Haven't seen any ABS ones on the aftermarket market (that sounds redundant, doesn't it?). I've attached a pic of the Glock magwell with a standard G17 mag... I had thought that the special mags were special for a reason - they aren't, really. If you had to, you could still pry out a stuck mag. And it looks a little more streamlined with the flat-bottomed mag... unfortunately, I love the fact that the special ones have a baseplate that slides over to completely cover the fill valve (mud in fill valves is no fun - personal experience has taught me that much), and I already have the 4 special mags.

Edit: actually, on further messing around with both types of mags (sorry, Andres - I just had to try it), the special mags are a little easier to index out of a pouch and slam home. I like them more :)
