All Nova slide catches do this. It's missing a machined ramp that allows easier installation/removal of the slide catch. Look at the area that contacts the plunger on the Marui safety lever and compare it to the Nova. Hit that same spot with a Dremel side drill or file to mimic the feature.

Thanks Brian!

+1. I might look into one RM suggested, too. I was dreading the thought of having to keep a screwdriver and paperclips in my gun case whenever I took it to a game.

Most gas guns work the same (if not all)
The only difference you have to keep in mind is the aftermarket support.

Other than that, it's just the style. Go with what you want.

Now my question: Do 1911 Mags work in a Hi-Capa or vice-versa?

Nope. A 1911 uses single stack magazines where as a Hi-capa uses double stack magazines.

So a 1911 Mag is thinner?

Take a look at the last picture of my post above. On the left are single stack 1911 mags, on the right are double stack Hi-Capa mags.

Oh, I see how it works now. Thnx

Also, agreed. Last thing we need is unwanted drama. Its not even on TV.

DAMN. Those grips are sex.

ILLusion January 11th, 2012 01:10

Yeah, I still love the Gunner Grips. Sadly, the original style is no longer available. No idea why they'd changed the style to begin with. It still looks good, but I find the grip to be much "sharper" to the touch. All's good if you're wearing gloves, though.

TaroBear January 11th, 2012 01:12

Did those fit on with the grip weights?

Now my gun looks like a cheap copy of your creation. Damn. :D Guess I'll just have to take it to the next level.

They're real steel grip panels. No hollow exists for the grip weights.

Here's the original:

Still one of my favorite pistols, and she's been getting a lot of use lately.

TaroBear January 11th, 2012 01:19

How do you compensate for the gun being unbalanced without the grip weights? i've resorted to sanding mine down.

ILLusion January 11th, 2012 02:22

Once the magazine is inserted, the weight will greatly shift to the grip.

Personally, my ideal pistol balance will have a fulcrum right underneath the trigger. Many real steel pistols are like this

Airsoft pistols with the grip weight installed become heavily grip weighted - even without a magazine inserted. The muzzle becomes much more pointable like this, but the muzzle will have severe jump when you shoot.
