It's simple, purchase an AK47 and then buy a complete front end to a Spetz. A front end should be $100 or less. It's a cheap and very easy conversion and then you can have both guns. AK's are super easy to work on.

Being an owner of two AKs, I do found the Spez ugly…but I have seem it in games and is not looking that bad especially if you use a long banana mag. The handling of this gun is very good; pistol grip and front grip are made of rubber. A long time ago I read a review about this gun in Arnies Airsoft, the reviewer also think this is an ugly gun. This gun is just as reliable as the other AKs TM have produced. You really have to handle the gun your self to come up with a conclusion.
But if this is going to be your only gun, why not save a few dollars more and buy some more time to expand your options?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Just get whatever gun you like and stop caring what others think.

Here is my Spetz with a standard AK47 flash hider and Pelican M6 tac light. AK74 mags looks good too.

now if thats airsoft (if it is) why are you wearing ear muffs FF?

G_unit April 9th, 2006 13:32

The spetz, stock is ugly as hell, that short magazine is gross, the front end is cool, and valuable if your looking to do some kind of 74 conversion. My biggest beef is it feels very, very toyish. Quite light, and too much plastic I think, which can be solved by buying metal bodies etc.

I installed an HK metal body (same as DTP only black instead of gun metal grey) and it's as heavy as a full size AK.

It was cold in there ... no really those are Peltor Tactical 6S hearing protectors/amplifiers. They have microphones on each muff and while they deaden loud and sharp noises, they amplify lower frequency sounds such as footsteps, talking, mag insertions, the ruffling of gear etc ...

In short, these give you the hearing of a dog.

They are made by AOSafety but I've only seen them on Ebay. Think they ran me about $80 or so CAD shipped.

Oh, and yes they work although they take some getting used to.

Droc, those types of muffs are pretty rare, but the last time I looked you could get or order them from LeBaron.
I may be wrong, have not searched for those in ages.

I think they're the same as these guys: http://www.shooterschoice.com/radians/Radians.htm

If our local hunting store has them, it's worth check your local stores for them as well.

IMO I want it to have my babies.

Haha.

That is the next AEG on my list. Has been for a while. Not sure if something else will come up before I purchase one, but I'd say deffinatley go for it, it's a beauty.

jackel April 10th, 2006 12:36

Look if I hear another person say it is not based off a real steel I am going to have a shit fit. There is a real steal version, and like it was said before it is used by Russian special forces. If you don't have your facts in order don't post!
