Thank you for comments, its very much appreciated and very helpful.

Couple questions:

Does it matter which representative avs you, because due to school I am not in Toronto most of the year

As well this is for Pestobanana, i see you have a CA M14, would you go back and instead buy a G&G m14 if you had the chance?

Thank you Rusty also, for providing a first hand account with the CYMA.

Aint nothing wrong with running your gun at 385fps with .28s
My vsr only ever shot 380 then 430 later on and I was perfectly happy with 260ft accurate range with a max of 280-300
AND you can fire semi auto incase shit hits the fan. If you had a bolt action, you're pretty much SOL when someone gets within full auto range.

And as a well experienced gundoc I can tell you the M14 is typically an excellent DM rifle.

No, after handling both CA and G&G, and seeing the internal build quality of both guns I got the CA because it is much sturdier externally, has Springfield Armory trades and had a better looking paint job. The G&G is externally inferior, lacks trades and has a shinier paint job.

Internally, G&G has a better piston head, piston and cylinder head combination. G&G also comes with a tightbore barrel. Although most people say CA has a terrible hop up rubber, the G&G one I handled was worse.

I chose the CA because I knew I would be doing heavy internal upgrading, which would nullify any advantage going G&G would have offered me, so I picked the one that was better externally. I do not regret my choice. Hope this helps you make your choice.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that has contributed to this thread. It means a lot, and has been very helpful in my M14 quest. Although I have not decided 100 percent this has been very useful in educating me lol.

So Thank you everyone :D

When I bough my CYMA M14 I was pretty skeptical, but I don't regret it. It's one of the many guns I've bought without regretting. Dis assebly is a major pain, but there barrel length and surprising amount of compatibility with standard V2s. My only complaints are

Trigger wouldn't puch back after shooting (Factory lemon. Newly manufactured versions dont have this problem
Proprietary barrel. You cans till find a lot of barrels for the M14.
Poprietary (spur?) gear. I think it's the spur. Could be a different one. Not a big deal at all. unless you're making this a godly setup, shouldn't matter

Other then that, they're pretty good stock. I'm currently running it with just proper shimmng and new grease, and an M90 spring for gaming it indoors until outdoor season.

I have the g&g m14 ebr long barrel, awesome gun if you are okay with the weight. Another option will be the g&g soc 16, same internal as an ebr but lighter.

changing hopup rubbers is pretty trivial. I believe g&G soc16 has springfield trades as well.. if not at least stamped trades.

The weak point on both CA and G&G m14s is the stock though, they have issues cracking at the grip or at the magwell. They need to be reinforced and filled with epoxy inside to help keep it from breaking. The rest of the gun when it's together feels really solid.

BTW, Daedalus of scout the doggie fame sold his RAtech EBR months and months ago. Scotland was too cold for it to work properly. I don't know why people still think he has it, it's been gone since at least last summer.

G&G does not have trades.

I've also never seen a G&G or CA with a cracked stock. I've seen someone drop theirs and it was fine.

Yes he did. And now he sucks. Lol. Actually I have not seen him with his new gun. I thought he got an ics not sure but if I'm gonna take time to watch video on the net it won't be watching men run around with other men.
Maybe if we makes a co2 mag for ebr u mite see it return.

lurkingknight March 4th, 2013 15:26

he has a TM m14 with the g&p ebr conversion now... as well as a number of other guns. I don't think it's a matter of sucking without the gas ebr.. more of a people sucking on his epeen every time he's in a video, so scout is filming other folks. Also I think dedalus really only plays at section 8, while scout has been off filming at other sites lately.

If you watch the ebr outtakes video you get to see how often that gun would just vent gas. As a result I think scout would follow him around for a half a game just to get 1 shot of it actually working.
