Nope. I tried that too, the buffer tube they used has a taper to it.
You might be able to swap it out for another GBBR tube that's not tapered, but I don't own any GBBRs so I can't try it (yet)

I think the gun comes with that king arms 11.1 right now, not sure if it is 20 c or not. If the battery is good I will use it,but it is nice to have more powerful options.

That will be quite hard.... the NanoTechs are considered the best batteries in RC world... and we are talking about people that take apart 200$ Dewalt batteries to take the cells in there...

We're going to get some samples to try out.
The batteries we're trying to get are tested by many in the RC world to have lower internal resistance and more true C-ratings compared to nanotechs.

This whole exercise is theoretical until we actually GET the batteries in hand though...

If they can compare in price to Nanos this will be really great!

Only 20C but for the price point may be a consideration for you. Multiple reviews confirming the size and fit.

The golden path to happiness involves installing a full butt stock with space for BIG lipos, like 4000-6000mAh, 40C+. Who cares how awesome or authentic your AK looks if all you can put in it is a measly 20C 1500mAh battery. There's absolutely no turning back once you've tasted a LiPo that can fire for two days at maximum trigger response and still be only down less than half a blip from peak voltage, all while driving a hard spring on 13:1 gears.

For maximum torque, optimize around your battery space and figure the rest out after -- even if it involves drilling ;)

Also MADDOG, and I can't quite remember if I asked you this (or your answer) when we spoke at Trev's field, but are you using a MOSFET on that setup? A really good MOSFET setup can increase trigger snappiness by a bit. It won't make up for a deficit of current, but it'll at least ensure that everything your battery can possibly push out will get to the motor.

Aesthetics vs. full stock.

I have several AK's with full stock already, I got the beta project because I wanted something a little different. I still have my main goto bad boy AK that can handle the massive batteries.

I already push the voltage now at 12.8v Lifepo, this looks good as well 13.2v

I can confirm that these do infact fit under the Beta Project dust cover with some fancy wire routing and you can "stiffly" move the charging handle to get to the hop up.

The C rating is great and blows the king arms 11.1v 12 c stick battery I had out of the water.
